In the fall of 2022, Alfaaz was honored to collaborate with the Extended Reality Ensemble's (XRE) Letter's Without Borders immersive experience in Queens, New York City by providing written pieces supporting the combination of traditional art forms with mixed reality technology to tell the stories of migrants living in NYC and their home countries. We also ran a ghazal writing workshop, an ancient form or Urdu poetry.

The pieces presented here are the words of those with immigration stories. Stories about borderless borders and when they're crossed. Words that channel the wonder, struggles, successes and failures of movement.

 

Through their pieces, these writers from around the world express the very real sensations that come with moving across lands.
