About us

At Alfaaz, we strive to bring together a community of writers and artists to create an environment of collaboration and creativity.

We are passionate about storytelling and believe in the power of creativity to connect us to one another, aiming to create a safe space for new and experienced writers to be able to express themselves and grow in their craft.

We provide several programs for our members to develop their writing, such as group and one-on-one development programs, writing groups, and seminars.

Here’s what we do:

  • We publish your writing year-round across our platforms, in our publications, at exhibitions and through out partners

  • Take your writing to where it can go.

We help people from across all experience levels improve their writing through group development programs, one-on-one feedback and workshops

  • Move forward with the best version of your piece.

We can edit your writing and provide you with feedback and critique of your work. There’s no size too small or large!

  • Showcase your work!

We curate, create and participate in exhibitions and hold events showcasing creative work

  • We help creative organizations remain focused on creative work by providing consulting services to help navigate through operational challenges such as funding, marketing, strategy and more

Our Founder
Karan Rathod

Based in Brooklyn, Karan gets his fulfillment from expressing and helping others express, in whichever form they choose.

He is a writer, poet, works on documentary films, and thrives off giving voices to people and uncovering their creative capabilities.

He recently completed a writing and curatorial artist residency in Barcelona, Spain. He was an advisor for nonprofit organizations in the arts and helped dance, jazz and other creative organizations navigate through their various challenges.

Karan started Alfaaz to create a comforting space for people to freely express themselves, push them to grow and help them thrive artistically.

“Nothing makes me more proud than when someone puts their creative work out, and then I watch the inevitability of their work impacting someone.”
